Spaghetti Bolognase

Ingredients

  • 85g Ground Beef (lean)
  • 1/2 cup Marinara Sauce
  • 1/2 cup Cooked Whole Wheat Spaghetti
  • 1/4 cup Chopped Onion
  • 1/4 cup Chopped Carrot
  • 1/4 cup Chopped Celery
  • 1 clove Garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp Olive Oil (for cooking)
  • Salt, Pepper, and Italian Seasonings (to taste)

Method

  • In a pan, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
  • Add the chopped onion, carrot, celery, and minced garlic. Sauté until the vegetables are softened and the onion is translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
  • Add the lean ground beef to the skillet. Break it up with a spatula and cook until browned and fully cooked, about 4-5 minutes.
  • Season the beef and vegetable mixture with salt, pepper, and Italian seasonings to taste. You can adjust the seasonings based on your preference.
  • Pour in the marinara sauce and stir to combine. Reduce the heat to low and let the sauce simmer for about 10-15 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together.
  • While the sauce is simmering, cook the whole wheat spaghetti according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  • Once the Bolognese sauce has simmered and thickened, it's ready to serve.
  • Plate up and enjoy!
